She had an early marriage before she explored her opportunities. In the year 1977, she was married to Richard Zieman.


‘Sewing With Nancy’ was her first program, the debut television show. She co-produced her show under the name Nancy Zieman Productions with Wisconsin Public Deletion. The show was on the air since September 1982. The sewing program has many special features.

She established ‘Nancy’ Notions’ in the year 1979. It is a company specialized in sewing notions, accessories, and all essential supplies. Tacony Corporation purchased Nancy’s Notions in the year 2003.

Zieman extended her operations and ventured as a designer. Clover Needle Craft and The McCall Pattern Company hired her as their designer.

Zieman also unleashed her creativity to another level.  She turned an author and started writing books on sewing.

Zieman had a successful marriage life. She married at the age of 24 years. She lived with her husband in Wisconsin. She had two sons and they lived together in Wisconsin. Her original shop, ‘Nancy’s Notion’ still functions successfully.

Nancy suffered from Bell ’s palsy. However, she never concealed her condition. Even she made a public show and hosted a segment with the medical professionals. She gave many interviews to the journalists, made open letters, and addressed the public.

Zieman was also diagnosed with Cancer and successfully recovered in the year 2016. Later, the breast cancer outgrown and treatments failed to recover her. She died in the year 2017.


Zieman dedicated all her life to sewing. She died the next day after her last episode of Sewing with Nancy aired on television.
