The survivors of the gas leak suffered from respiratory and eye problems, which was the result of the deadliest industrial accident in history.

From a gas plant in India, the next workplace disaster goes to a mining plant in the U.S., as the mining job itself is a risky and even deadly one. On December 6, 1907, an explosion in a coal mine occurred in Monongah, West Virginia.

This explosion collapsed the mining site’s entrance and ventilation system, killing more than 350 miners, most of them being young boys. Their deaths were caused by either the explosion itself or by suffocation caused by the poisonous gas inside the mining site.

This caused the water supply to the feedwater system to be shut off, causing the reactor core to shut off as well.

After a series of subsequent errors, the said core was exposed partially, causing some dangerous nuclear gas to leak out, causing lots of health hazards to the people living nearby.
