FASHION AND WOMEN’S SHOES

The footwear industry is more versatile than ever in today’s world. Unless one stays at home all day, one likely changes into multiple types of shoes every day. There are shoes for every occasion. There is more variety found in women’s shoes as compared to men shoes. Men’s shoes are made more for comfort while women’s shoes are made more for style. Nevertheless, high heels may not feel comfortable at all times, and therefore, women prefer to wear comfortable shoes if they have to walk, and then change into formal shoes as required.

There is no doubt that there are eternal types of shoes for women but let’s discuss some of the most popular ones below.

Pumps – These are high heeled shoes usually pointed at the toe. These could be for formal wear, casual wear or party wear. Even though they are high heeled, these are still very comfortable to wear.

Stilettos – These are one of the most stylish types. These have pin-pointed, thin and high heels and are either used as formal shoes or as for parties.

Kitten Heels – They are shoes with a short, slender heel, somewhere between 1.5 to 2 inches and the heel has a slight curve coming from the back edge of the shoe. These are favourites of many celebrities including Michelle Obama, Hilary Clinton and Audrey Hepburn. These are also a part of the top five best shoes for women’s formal wear.

Ankle Booties – These are also high heeled like pumps, but these have the shape of boots instead of bellies. Many did not recognise them as fashionable until the 1970s. However, these are a staple in most women’s wardrobes today, especially in the winters, and are perfect as formal or casual shoes.

Ankle Strap Heels – These are also known as women’s T-Strap sandals, introduced in the 1920s. These come with a pointed toe and a strap; starting from the centre of the toe, reaching the ankle and then encircling it. These are usually not considered as formal wear.

Wedges – These may or may not be high-heeled but have a single section of material serving both as sole as well as the heel. The sole is usually thicker at the back than at the front. These are one of the most comfortable types of shoes for women.

Cone Heels – These heels are broad at the sole where they begin but keep getting thinner as they reach the ground, thus making them conical in shape. The shoe could be of any form. These are usually considered casual and are ideal for fun and flirty dresses.

Ballerina Flats – These are closed-toe shoes inspired by the women’s ballerina shoes. These are also called Dolly shoes or ballet flats and have skinny to no heels.

Few other types of popular women’s shoes are Oxfords, Espadrille heels, Mules, Trainers, Thick high boots, Loafers, Fantasy, Scarpin, Mary Janes, and the list goes. The list is so long that it’s unlikely for a woman to own all types of women’s shoes in the world in one lifetime.

One needs to stay updated for the latest trends to be in line with the fashion world. Both retail stores and online platforms offer these wide varieties of women’s shoes. While it is essential to be in line with fashion, one must not overlook their comfort. The point is to choose the best shoes according to both the occasion and the user’s comfort.
